Laughs and legal stuff for Jay and Sophie

When people ask to see a video of me in action doing my celebrant thing, it can sometimes be tricky because every ceremony I do is different. Why? Because every couple is different!

In saying that, I have developed my own natural style - conversational, relaxed, and a little bit cheeky - which was right up Sophie and Jay’s alley for their ceremony at The Pagoda Resort and Spa, located in Como, just south of Perth.

These two lovebirds arranged their wedding in just a few weeks and while the pandemic prevented a few of their loved ones from being there in person, I made sure to give those watching an enthusiastic shout out so they were feeling the love as well.

I’ve worked with a lot of photographers and videographers over my 270+ weddings, but Tony and Anita from Tonita Photo and Video (Get it? It’s their names mashed together!) are always a delight. An epic combination of great work, fast turnaround, smiling faces and a competitive price. Literally two days after the ceremony, Tony had this highlight video uploaded and waiting in my inbox! Deepest thanks to Tony and Anita, and also to Sophie and Jay for allowing me to be a part of your big day!

Candice Bydder

Having worked for 10 years as a journalist working in TV, radio, print and public relations across Western Australia, I’ve developed a knack for telling a good story. Love stories are among the happiest and most uplifting stories, so a career as a marriage celebrant was a natural fit. My expertise in video and audio broadcasting is an added bonus, meaning you’ll be heard when it matters most.
