When the first Bride’s Choice Awards rolled into Perth in late 2019, I thought it would be a bit of fun. Eat some food, have a chat with some wedding industry mates, and maybe come home with a nice picture to post on my socials. But, completely to my surprise, I came home with so much more than that!

I joined nine other exceptionally talented celebrants on stage, delighted to be named among the top 10 female celebrants in Perth. Then, I was over the moon to receive the top award in that category - Perth’s Best Female Marriage Celebrant!

And if that wasn’t enough, at the very end of the night, the compere explained the “Best of the Best” award. That is, the wedding professional with the most votes overall, across all categories. I was so convinced one of the big wedding venues would get it, purely because of the volume of weddings they see coming through, but lo and behold, it was me!

How surprised was I? This photo says it all…

And now the voting for the 2020 awards has just opened! With all the challenges 2020 has faced, it would be incredible to make the short list of finalists. So… I’m asking a favour. If you had your wedding somewhere in Perth from 1 April 2019 to 20 November 2020, please consider casting a vote by clicking here. It takes only a few seconds and could make such a difference for me!

I’ll be sure to post on the blog if there is some happy news to share!

Having worked for 10 years as a journalist working in TV, radio, print and public relations across Western Australia, I’ve developed a knack for telling a good story. Love stories are among the happiest and most uplifting stories, so a career as a marriage celebrant was a natural fit. My expertise in video and audio broadcasting is an added bonus, meaning you’ll be heard when it matters most.
