Wedding Expos and Open Days - here is where I’ll be!

Fancy meeting a bunch of wedding vendors all in the one place? Wedding expos allow you to wander at your own pace, see things you like (and don’t like) and, often, score great deals on different products and services.

In my experience, the best discounts are at Wedding Open Days for individual venues - especially ones that welcome vendors to exhibit for free, or for a small cost (to cover lunch and insurance etc).

It makes sense when you think about it. Some of the bigger expos (at the Showgrounds or Convention Centre, for example) charge thousands of dollars for an expo stall. That’s justified, as the companies behind these expo extravaganzas do a lot of marketing, and the logistics of hiring and filling a big space come at a significant cost.

But for small businesses, and sole traders, adding an expo special or incentive on top of those costs is often out of reach, or not sustainable.

Another thing I like about Wedding Open Days is that it develops really strong ties between vendor teams. We work together often, know each other’s strengths, and we all bring out the best in one another.

I only sign on for an Open Day at venues I believe in - where the customer service is particularly strong. It’s like a mutual endorsement, the venue has seen that I treat my clients exceptionally well, and in return, I’ll happily throw my support and recommendation of that venue.
