Love in bloom at Old Young’s mid-week micro wedding

Callie and Nick’s Swan Valley wedding had a small guest list, but was big on attention to detail. The result? A luxurious, intimate event with a dash of European style.

The aesthetic impressed the crew at The Antibride too, who featured their nuptials as one of the Real Weddings features. You can read the full article here, with images by the wonderful Kath Young (who included some shots on 35mm film as part of her package).

Old Young’s Kitchen is well known locally for its modern take on fine dining, complemented by the award-winning gin distillery next door. With dishes served on long tables under the grapevine arbour, the relaxed setting brought warmth and authenticity to Nick and Callie’s love milestone.

A florist by trade, naturally, Callie made sure the blooms were on point, and she trusted her friend and colleague Jaicelyn of Studio Viola to help bring her vision to life.

For me, the vows were a stand out. Lengthy, but not boring. Romantic, without being soppy. A little bit cheeky.

An excerpt from Callie’s vows:

I promise to love you more. Love you more than any challenge we are to face. Love you more than any distance that may come between. More than any argument, more than any amounts of chocolate and to always love you more than yesterday. You are my moon and I’ll love you in all your phases. Being your wife is going to be the greatest joy of my life. My heart belongs to you, now and forever.

And from Nick’s vows:

I vow to sing songs in the car with you as loud as we can and force you to dance with me at the lights when people are watching. I will always be your armour against things that try to hurt you. It could be you and me against the world, I would not hesitate to take it on head first with you next to me.

Callie and Nick, thank you so much for inviting me into your world, and for your VERY kind words in The Antibride. Here’s what they had to say:

“Our celebrant Celebrations by Candice was no short of amazing. She really calmed any stress we had and delivered the most beautiful ceremony. She really took the time to get to know us and to write our story. Everyone there was either laughing or crying!”
